The Bigger Picture
This report is about the new Wide Field Camera, known to be the fastest instrument for infrared survey in the world. This wide view camera will assist the observation of the Southern region of the Orion nebula.
The previously used cameras are way behind WFCAM in their coverage. The opinion is that it will cover 100 times fainter surveys done earlier. In addition, the images combined with infrared filters give COLOR images of the space.
Therefore, do not be surprised if the space exploration through this camera produces some quick new findings, and some great shots of the Orion nebula to go with them!
